Tucked into the rolling Ozark foothills of Fredericktown, Missouri, Cherrywood Farm & Golf Club is one of those rare places that earns the word destination. Nine holes of golf laid down in 1948, still playing true on bent grass greens. A working farm — cattle, chickens, goats, sheep, ducks, and honeybees — all raised with intention. Conestoga wagon rentals that put you inside the history of a state that once launched a nation westward. Come for a round. Stay for the eggs. Breathe easier.
Dale Cooper started Cherrywood with a piece of land and a desire to create something meaningful. A farm came first; regenerative agriculture, cattle, chickens, sheep, ducks, even honeybees! A vision for a sustainable community, designed to connect people with nature, each other, and their Creator. Then came a need for Dale's waterslide restoration company to find a headquarters. The neighboring golf course came up for sale, and the pieces clicked into place.
Now here we are almost a year into the adventure, and the vision has only grown! In December we welcomed the first of our 8 Conestoga Wagon vacation rentals, adding to the truly unique experience of Cherrywood. Immerse yourself in the proud history of our state, honoring the brave pioneers who set out from our "Gateway to the West" with dreams of a brighter future for their families.
Farm fresh eggs are now available for purchase. The superiority of these eggs is clear from the deep color of the yolk to the rich flavor that can't be replicated within a commercial operation. Be kind to your body, eat good food!
Cherrywood Farm & Golf Club is named for Dale's true passion, his wife Cherry. Their 12 children and (for now) 10 grandchildren are their proudest legacy. They hope you will stop by for a round of golf, some eggs, or simply take a peaceful stroll in the meadow. Just watch out for the goats, they are very annoying.

Everyone here has a job. Most of them are doing it.
Chickens can recognize and remember over 100 individual faces — chicken and human alike. They know exactly who you are. Act accordingly.
Cows form genuine best friendships. Research shows they get stressed when separated from their closest companion, and their heart rates drop when reunited. So do ours.
Goats are mean.
Ducks can sleep with one eye open, keeping half their brain conscious and alert while the other half rests. They are, scientifically, always watching.
Sheep self-medicate. When ill, they seek out specific plants with medicinal properties — antifungals, antiparasitic herbs — and adjust what they eat accordingly. In this way only, be like a sheep.
A single honeybee produces about 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in its entire lifetime. Every jar represents millions of individual decisions. Dale's personal favorite. Respect the bees.
Step back in time and spend the night in one of our beautifully restored Conestoga Wagons. Nestled on the property, each wagon offers a one-of-a-kind glamping experience surrounded by nature — warm lights, fresh air, and the sounds of the farm at dusk.
